There is a quote attributed to the British Methodist Preacher, W. E. Sanger (1900 - 1960) regarding the lack of evangelism in the modern church. He is cited as having said, “The easiest way to embarrass a congregation of twentieth century Christians is to ask them two simple questions: "When is the last time you personally led another person to Jesus Christ?" and "When is the last time you tried?"

These are pointed questions that strike at the heart of our beliefs. Do we truly believe that humanity needs a savior? No one wants to feel embarrassed by questions such as that posed by Rev. Sanger. Even more, many of us simply feel poorly equipped to try. According to the inscription on the back, this “text answers the fundamental questions of why, who, what, and how of sharing one’s faith with another.” This will give us a good platform on which to share our thoughts on telling our community about the good news of Jesus Christ.

In the forward, Rev. Dr. Maxie Dunham says: “I am delighted that this is not just a how-to book, nor is it just a challenging call. It is rooted in that basic Christian concern for persons. We must share the faith, not for the sake of the church bur for the sake of the persons with whom we share.”
